Conference of Young Slavists XX

This jubilee edition will not have a strict thematic focus; therefore, we welcome contributions addressing topics related to the Slavic world. Contributions in the fields of historiography, linguistics, literary studies, and cultural studies are especially welcome.

Application Deadline: 30 September 2026
Applicants are kindly requested to complete our online application form by this date, including an abstract in the language of the presentation and in English (for papers, each version should be 900–1500 characters). Applications submitted after the deadline or without abstracts will not be considered.

The conference is intended for holders of bachelor’s and master’s degrees, doctoral students, and early-career researchers up to 35 years of age.

Conference Languages: All Slavic languages

Length of Presentation: 15–20 minutes

Poster Requirements:
Prepared in A0 format (841 mm × 1189 mm)
Recommended:

  • serif font (e.g. Times New Roman)
  • maximum 800 words
  • prepared using Adobe Illustrator or CorelDraw

Presentations will be divided into sections according to selected topics and chaired by members of the academic community of the Faculty of Arts, Charles University. Participants who develop their presentations into full academic papers will be offered the opportunity to publish their work in a peer-reviewed volume. The editors of the conference proceedings reserve the right to request revisions to submitted papers or to reject submissions that do not meet the formal, substantive, or scholarly criteria for publication.

Conference sections will be formed after the selection of submissions based on abstracts.

Participation Fee:
Participants will be charged:

  1. a conference participation fee of CZK 2,000 / EUR 80 (for oral presentations; payable online) to cover conference organization and refreshments.
